AK-230 gun and turret - assembly instructions.

To complete, this model requires two 30mm lengths of 1.5mm of brass tube, one 25mm 'O' ring of 1mm thickness, and a short length of 0.7mm brass wire.

Insert the lengths of brass tube into the swivel unit holes, leaving approx 25mm exposed. Water jacketing on the gun barrels can be simulated with lengths of heatshrink tubing.

Press the swivel unit firmly up into the inside of the turret, so that the axels click past the small lugs intended to hold it in place.

Fit the 'O' ring into the groove in the turret base. Then press the turret top evenly into the turret base. A definite click will indicate that the turret top has attached properly. The use of an 'O' ring enables the turret top to be removed and replaced multiple times without wearing any retaining lugs.

The Forward AK-230 gun is secured to the deck using a bolt through the centre hol in the base. The Rear AK-230 gun is secured to the base extension in the same way, and the completed unit is a press-fit into the circular rudder access hole at the stern of teh OSA-01 Missile Boat.

If desired, a circular rail can be placed around the turret dome using 0.7mm brass wire to further improve scale accuracy.
